This is a word from Pastor
Timothy Burdick, Minister of Abilities for
Friday Study Ministries:
I found this Scripture in Luke
comforting and want to share it with you
through poetry. If you are like me in dark
times, you often don’t know it, but Jesus is
right there with you.
"Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him,
and he disappeared from their sight. They
asked each other, "Were not our hearts
burning within us while he talked with us on
the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"
(Luke 24:31-32)
"Please open up my eyes Lord"
By Pastor Timothy Burdick
Open up
my eyes, Lord, and let me know you're there.
For often as I walk life’s road I confront
despair.
And as we talk while traveling,
Grief hides the precious nail prints in Your
hands
And the spear that tore Your side.
I don’t recognize Your face but You listen
to my pain,
And then unexpectedly, you show up on life’s
lane.
Just like a loving parent, You try to let me
know,
how to allocate your strength, but many
times I’m slow.
For like a child waking up my vision is
still blurred,
And I don’t behold you clearly though my
heart is stirred.
Please open up my eyes Lord for I will seek
your face,
For you have overcome and are the victor in
the race.
