A minister who served the same congregation for
many years, decided to leave and take a similar
position in another church.
Without telling anyone he had made this decision
or writing a letter to the church board, he
waited until Sunday morning to announce his
resignation after the sermon.
When he spoke to them he said, "The same Lord
who called me to this church many years ago has
now called upon me to leave and serve another
church."
After a brief pause, the choir all jumped to
their feet and burst into the song, "What a
Friend We Have in Jesus!" |
